![]() ![]() We are not rough with our monitors and understand plugs of all types aren't meant to be utilized in a careless manner. It's failure is a weakness so doesn't usually occur abruptly but over time as the plug is used. In the end, it turns out that the weak spot (which becomes apparent when searching the web for this issue) is that the input for the USBC thunderbolt plug to the monitor board is not adequately designed for use with unplugging and replugging in a cable for someone who uses it with a laptop and any frequency. I'd shared this information with LG on the original tech support call but swapping my husbands monitor cable to my own system (not the other way around) and they still had recommended a new cable. ![]() His monitor had no such difficulty with either cable. We have two of these monitors (same model and purchase time) so I then tried both the old cable I thought had failed and the new cable purchased and swapped them to my husbands monitor. After I purchased the cable and thought that the cable fixed my intermittent issue, it occurred again not long thereafter (realizing later it never actually fixed my issue, it was just an intermittent issue). I spent time on the phone with LG tech support and they recommended a new cable. I too thought I had a cable that was failing so beware and consider this possibility. ![]()
